Northwestern Ontario Youth Internship Project

LOWBIC is currently involved with a very beneficial program for businesses within the private sector. LOWBIC, partnered with FedNor, is offering businesses an opportunity to hire an intern within the Innovation, Information and Communication Technology and Export/Trade divisions.

This program is aimed to assist unemployed or underemployed residents of Northwestern Ontario, under the age of thirty, that have graduated with a degree, diploma or certificate from a post-secondary institute, within the last three years.

LOWBIC will reimburse the business up to 50%, or a maximum of $31,500, for wages, benefits, business/skill development and related travel costs directly related to the intern. This is a great opportunity for those that need some hands on experience, directly related to their field of studies. At the same time, this program is giving employers a chance to teach and mentor those that may not be able to get the experience elsewhere.
