Business Health Check Program
A grant of up to $2,500 is available to help business access professional consulting services for a variety of reasons!
Eligible Activities
- Consulting with a designated accountant/lawyer regarding business structure
- Consulting with a CPA for areas such as, but not limited to:
– succession planning
– business valuation
– In-depth review prior year financial statements (up to three years)
– A look into areas for expansion or improvement - Projections for existing businesses
- Business Development Consultation – where to improve business practices
- Consultation with Human Resources specialist
Ineligible Activities
- Routine/Annual professional services
- Website or social media development and development of marketing strategies
Eligible Businesses
- Existing business as of January 1, 2022
- Must be a for-profit organization
- Majority of business is done in the LOWBIC catchment area.
- A SME (Small-Medium Enterprise) is a business of strategic importance to the community. i.e. retail shops, restaurants, corner stores.
- SMEs are defined as having less than 500 employees and annual sales revenue of less than $20 million. SMEs produce goods and services for the economy regardless of their business structure (i.e. sole proprietorship, social enterprises, cooperatives)
Spaces are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
